The God Who Is Not Far Away


Our world is full of people searching for peace, purpose, and identity in all the wrong places. In Acts 17, Athens was crowded with altars to every imaginable philosophy and belief system. They even built an altar dedicated to an Unknown God just in case they missed one.

When Paul saw this, he didn't mock their confusion. He addressed their hunger saying in Acts 17:24-25: The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by human hands. 25 And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

God is not playing hide-and-seek with your life. He didn't place you here by accident, and He hasn't left you to navigate this world on your own. 

Whatever uncertainties you face this week, rest in the promise that in Him, you live, move, and have your very existence. Reach out to Him in prayer. He is already near.

The blessings keep coming. It started the day she tried on her wedding dress. I was there in support. Afterwards, the entire group decided to get a bite to eat. In my purse, I had seventy cents and on my card, I had three dollars plus some change. Upon arrival to the restaurant, we were greeted and seated by the waitress. While checking out the menu, I wondered what I could order that would not be over the bit of money I had in my purse. I could play it safe by ordering a pop or coffee. Hmmm,... The waitress appeared as the group was discussing what they were going to order. Since they served breakfast, lunch and dinner, I asked for a side order of toast. The group suggested I get the french toast, which was waaay out of my budget. But, I said, OK and ordered it. All along, I had been praying in my head for the LORD to help me. When the food came, I prayed for the group, thanking God for our meal. We all enjoyed ourselves. They even tasted some of my french toast....

Your Delay Is Not Denial Trusting God in the Waiting Season 📖 Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV) – “For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Have you ever felt like God was taking too long? You pray. You believe. You wait. And still… it feels like nothing is moving. It’s easy to get discouraged in seasons of delay — especially when others around you seem to be walking into their breakthroughs while you’re stuck wondering “When is it my turn?”  But the Word of God in Habakkuk 2:3 brings comfort and clarity: For the vision is yet for an appointed time... That means: God hasn’t forgotten. The promise, the vision, the direction — whatever He placed in your heart — is still alive. But it’s attached to a divine appointment.
